RYANAIR
LAUNCHES NEW ROUTE FROM FLY-BALATON AIRPORT TO FRANKFURT
Ryanair, Europe’s
largest low fares airline, today announced four new routes
from its Frankfurt Hahn base to Balaton in Hungary, Biarritz
and Nantes in France and Valencia in Spain. The new route from
Balaton to Frankfurt will operate 3 times weekly (Tuesday,
Thursday, Saturday) from the 31st October and bring the total
number of destinations served by Ryanair from Balaton to 2,
while from Frankfurt Hahn to 41. Today’s new services
will increase the annual passenger numbers at Balaton airport
by further 40 thousand to 80 thousand passengers in 2007.
From
October 2006 Ryanair will base 2 additional Boeing 737-800
in Frankfurt Hahn as part of the $1 billion multi year expansion
bringing the total number of based aircraft at Hahn to 9.
Speaking in Budapest today, Ryanair’s Sales & Marketing
Executive for Central Europe, Tomasz Kulakowski said:
“Ryanair launched its first
service from Fly Balaton airport in May 2006 and since then
total number of passengers carried on the route reached 10
thousand. Today, we are delighted to one more route which will
deliver some 40 new jobs and 40,000 additional passengers per
annum." |
